Internationally educated nurse (IEN) applicants can start their application at any time, from any device by selecting the pathway that works best for them. Within the College Connect platform, you will be able to confirm which option you have chosen to confirm your competence. If you are unsure of which pathway to choose, you can request a consultation with a registrant navigator.
All pathways require applicants to complete the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) exam.
Different pathways for International Applicants will be determined based on which of the following applies to you:
Have you passed the NCLEX-RN already? You can combine this with an advisory report from the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) or education credential assessment from an approved service to meet the competency requirement. If you meet all the registration requirements, a permit will be issued.
With an education credential assessment from an approved service or an advisory report from the NNAS, you can request to write the NCLEX-RN. You do not need to be currently registered. Costs include fees paid to the CRNA and costs required by the relevant organizations for their respective services.
There are options to meet the requirements. It is recommended you request a consultation with a registrant navigator to find your pathway to a permit.
